Quick picks
- Selfie edits & festival portraits (Diwali, Christmas, 3D figurine, retro saree): start with Nano Banana.
- Posters, cards, thumbnails with text: ChatGPT usually spells words most reliably.
- Product shots: Nano Banana or ChatGPT with your product photo uploaded.
- Mood boards, concept art and logos to explore: Midjourney.
- Iterating in a chat (“make it warmer”, “remove the hat”): Gemini.
How the prompt formats differ
Chat-based tools (Nano Banana, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok) understand full sentences, so prompts say what to keep (“keep my face identical”) and what to create. Midjourney prefers comma-separated descriptions with parameters: --ar sets the aspect ratio and --oref attaches your photo as a reference, with --ow controlling how closely it's followed.
Features and quality change often as these tools update. This comparison is general guidance, not a benchmark. Last reviewed October 18, 2026.
